Book of the Weekend -- March 14, 2008
One of my little pleasures is reading children's books from time to time. A few years ago I re-read my childhood favorite From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler -- hiding out in the Met Museum, a mystery involving a Michelangelo statue, and adventure, lots of adventure. Is it any wonder I enjoyed it the second time around? That led me to reading some children's books I had never read as a child. Imagine the looks on the subway when I took out my copy of today's Book of the Weekend, Stuart Little. That mouse has a lot to teach us all!
