Book of the Weekend -- March 28, 2008

One of the wonderful things about my neighborhood here in Brooklyn is that from time to time people will leave boxes of books they no longer want or need on their front stoops for any passersby to take. I was walking around my neighorhood yesterday doing all my errands all at once. (See this is what happens now that I've returned to the work-a-day world.) And I found a box of books! There were lots of really great titles (most of which I already own.) But then I saw something that caught my eye. I flipped through the book and of course, I couldn't resist a memoir with recipes -- Ruth Reichl's "Comfort Me With Apples" -- which is today's Book of the Weekend. (And two points if you can tell me where the title comes from -- hint, hint, it's one of the world's most beautiful poems!)
